Liege is a vibrant city with old and new architecture. It is located in Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium. The city's nickname is 'La Cité Ardente' which means as much as The Fiery City. As mentioned, it has many old buildings and history. But of course, contemporary buildings are not missing either. A major attraction there is the large weekly market. This market is the largest market in Belgium. It is held on Sundays and so it is crowded because everyone has time on Sundays. This market has everything you would expect from such'a big market, vegetables, fruits, clothes and everything you can think of. Another important fact is that the university is one of the oldest in the world. One of the old historic buildings is the church with the resounding name 'Collégiale Saint-Barthélemy'. It is a Catholic church with a striking building. The towers are white with red frames. Blue, ochre yellow, orange, green, white and black were mainly used in this artwork.
