The 60-metre-high lift towers of the old iron lift bridge 'De Hef' dominate the townscape of the Noordereiland on the Nieuwe Maas in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, province of South Holland. The lift bridge was built between 1925 and 1927 as part of the railway line to Dordrecht. The design was by ir. P. Joosting. Since 1993, rail traffic has passed through a tunnel and the bridge has been decommissioned.
