It was a beautiful summer day and the sun was shining brightly on the beach. The waves of the sea lapped quietly on the sand and a cooling breeze blew across the face of a boy who was concentrating on sealing a puddle of water. He was completely in his element and took no notice of the people around him. With his hands, he scooped the sand into the puddle, but every time he thought he had sealed the puddle, the water broke through the constructed embankment again. The symbolism of this scene was obvious to some passers-by. The boy who worked so hard to seal the puddle was like man trying to solve his problems. Every time he thinks he has solved the problem, it rears its head again and he has to start all over again. But it the boy did not give up. He kept persevering and after a long time of hard work, he managed to close the puddle. He had learned that if you keep persevering, you can eventually achieve what you want. The passers-by applauded and the little boy smiled proudly. He had not only closed the puddle, but also learnt an important life lesson that he would carry with him all his life.
