The Clown Treefrog has earned this name because of its colourful appearance. The clown Treefrog is found in the Amazon Basin. This widespread and locally common species is found near water in a wide variety of tropical habitats. It is a tree-dweller that can be found in tall trees and shrubs in search of food, rarely reaching the ground. Its menu mainly includes small invertebrates such as insects hunted between the branches. It is a nocturnal species.
