At the moment I took this picture, I was very disappointed. The lynx just wouldn't stay in the perfect pose, and with wild animals you just don't get a second chance. It was only months later, when I looked at the photos again, that I laughed. This was not a failed photo, this was an iconic image of a lynx behaving as cats do: independent, headstrong and completely in its own world. I decided to make a fine-art portrait of it, and the result is a powerful, mysterious yet humorous work of art.
The lynx, with its distinctive tufts on its ears and thick fur, is a master of the wilderness. This solitary predator lives in vast forests and mountainous areas, where it blends almost invisibly into its surroundings. But despite his wild nature, there is something recognisably homely about this photo - an attitude that any cat lover will instantly recognise.
This work is perfect for lovers of nature, animals and fine-art photography. It fits beautifully in a modern, minimalist or Scandinavian interior, but also in a cosy, rustic space where natural elements come together. Think of a living room, study or an atmospheric hall where it can be an eye-catcher. The deep texture of the fur, the warm earth tones and the soft, artistic background make it a timeless piece that exudes both tranquillity and character.
