Karin Heystee loves animals. She has a dog of her own and there are chickens in her garden. She also likes to watch television programs about animals and she regularly visits the zoo. The best thing is of course to see the animals in the wild. No documentary can compete with that. During a holiday in the south of France, she saw flamingos in the wild. This experience was an inspiration for this painting.
The colors are pink, red and orange. The background is very dark blue. The brush strokes are clearly visible, which gives the painting a lively appearance.
These flamingos are smoothly painted and almost abstract. that makes this painting particularly playful and it will therefore not get boring quickly.
