A colorful photo of the vibrant neighborhood around the Eilandje in Antwerp, one of my favorite areas for (night) photography. The neighborhood has been undergoing a huge upgrade in recent years and you'll find a lot of cozy cafes and restaurants here.
This photo was taken from Tavernierkaai and you look over the Bonapartedok which reflects the light of the colorfully lit buildings on its surface. The large building behind the gas station is the "Friendship Building", also known among local residents as the "Chiquita building" because it used to house Chiquita's European headquarters. Currently, the building is virtually empty and it will eventually be demolished to make way for a new housing project.
