Colourful animal portrait: Crocodile

by Christian Ovís

Colourful Animal Portrait: Crocodile depicts a green crocodile amongst leaves and small yellow flowers. Its long snout points to the left, whilst two yellow-orange eyes on top of its head look straight ahead. Small white teeth line the curved mouth. The light-coloured lower jaw and throat contrast with the darker green of the head and back. Small scales give the skin a distinct pattern.

The animal is depicted standing upright and in a highly stylised manner. Larger areas of scales run across the neck and chest, whilst the sides are rendered in finer detail. A few dark spikes protrude along the back. The turquoise and green background features faint plant shapes and small light dots. Yellow flowers provide soft accents along the lower edge. The round eyes and upturned mouth give the crocodile a friendly appearance. The light-coloured face remains clearly visible amongst the dark leaves.

This crocodile illustration is ideal as wall art for a child’s bedroom, play area or creative workspace with a nature theme. Green and yellow combine well with wood, cream and light-coloured fabrics. On a plain wall, the long snout is given plenty of space. Up close, you can make out the small teeth, scales and yellow petals.
