The rain has subsided, but its echo still lingers in the puddles that reflect the sky like silent eyes. A rainbow stretches over the abandoned Plaza de la Derrhumbada, clear and perfect, as if it had formed just for this place - for this forgotten square that has stood in silence for years. The old walls, peeling and tired, still bear the marks of time, and yet the light catches them as if to rediscover their value.
The reflection of the water creates a second arc, a more delicate image that makes the scenery almost dreamlike. The buildings around it - modern, lively - contrast with the wasteland of the former bus station, which was once a hub and is now just an intermediate space, left behind between past and future.
The rainbow seems like a fleeting promise: that even places that seem forgotten can experience a moment of splendour. Perhaps it is here, in a place of silence and stillness, that the colours of the sky appear particularly vivid. For a breath, the dilapidated is cancelled out, the everyday is enchanted - and Puerto de la Cruz shows its ability to find beauty even in the inconspicuous.
