Explore the depth of perspective in my artworks, highlighting the multifaceted nature of 'truth' in our information society. My illustrations invite you to reflect on your own beliefs and the various ways we experience reality.
In our search for 'the truth', we engage in endless discussions, sometimes completely twisting ourselves into knots. While doing this, we often lose sight of what really matters. Imagine if we could all take a step back; if we could take the time to observe, feel and listen, instead of constantly wanting to express ourselves.
Conflict often arises because many people believe they have a monopoly on the truth. When you are only focused on proving yourself right, you are not open to the opinions of others. Emotions can run high, leaving no room for good communication. In this state of imbalance, we actually live alongside each other and lose sight of reality.
When creating my artworks, I start by sketching ideas, visually shaping my thoughts. I then transfer these sketches to Photoshop, where I elaborate the line work and combine colours. Light and shadow work play a crucial role in my process, as they add depth and emotion to the composition. All this leads me to a carefully composed palette and ultimately to the final result.
