On the hull of a workboat moored in Rotterdam's Waalhaven, I encountered this sublime planar distribution. A few solid horizontal lines, complemented by the more subtle vertical movements of the little ladder and the rust stripes. Furthermore, a nicely subdued color palette of red, gray and orange-brown tones. The near-symmetry that is broken in a few places. The little ladder that gives scale and meaning to an image that otherwise would be almost abstract.
My work can be found in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work.
