Container ship Mol Tradition under pilot on the Nieuwe Waterweg en route to the 2nd Maasvlakte.
The container ship loaded with containers from all over the world.
These ships are huge and on a calm day like this with high tide and a calm sea it makes for a great photo. I also like to visit the Maasvlakte when the wind is strong and the waves are high. The helicopter platform towers above you. The container is still far away. But it is huge when it sails past you.
These ships and the tugs have a lot of work to do to maneuver them to their berths.
Raw and the port as it is, the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
