The poet Jeanne Ramel Cals liked to name it "Cordes sur Ciel", loosely translated "Cordes in heaven". Indeed, early in the morning, especially in autumn, an intense mist covers the valley of Cérou. And only the summit of the medieval city emerges from this sea of clouds. We can say that Cordes is above the sky ... The name "Cordes sur Ciel" was formalized in 1993 by a decision Paul Quilès, mayor at that time.
