This artist impression, done in stylish sepia, shows just how big today's cruise ships are. The very largest of these sailing cities, the Oasis, Harmony and Allure of the Seas, are 360 meters long. They have sixteen decks and there is even a plaza and park on board.
You only really realize how long 360 meters is when you put one of these huge ships upright. There is still room on Wilhelmina Pier, between the cruise terminal and the World Port Center. You would get a skyscrapert (as we say in Rotterdam) next to which the other towers on the pier would look like dwarfs.
