In 1973, a Dakota DC3 made an emergency landing in southern Iceland. Fortunately, the entire crew survived the crash. However, salvaging the plane was too big an investment, so the wreckage has since been left to the elements.
On the vast plain of volcanic black sand, it makes a ghostly impression. But it is also ideal for taking a nice dramatic photo of it.
