In spring, the first kingcup flowers appear around my pond - a cheerful and almost exuberant sign that nature is coming back to life. Their sunny buds always seem to catch the light, as if to celebrate spring.
For this work, I not only photographed the flowers, but digitally further processed them into a picturesque scene. The soft peach tones of the petals contrast nicely with the dark background and give the whole scene a warm, almost vintage feel. The use of layers and textures creates depth, giving the image a dreamy glow.
This artwork brings the energy of spring inside.
