Dancing Japanese cranes in a field on Hokkaido, Japan's northern island. In winter, it is bitterly cold and there is a thick blanket of snow on Hokkaido island. The cranes already show their dance in the very early spring to convince a mate to form a pair for the breeding season....
In Japan, cranes have mythical status, said to be the messenger of peace, happiness, symbol of wisdom, health, loyalty and long life.
In addition, they symbolise loyalty and goodness and were associated with healing the soul.
But to me, they are beautiful birds to behold with their stately appearance, their beautiful call and their magnificent dance. The snow completed this image....
