I found this poppy somewhere in a small field full of purple flowers. This made the poppy stand out with its red colour. The wind made it look like an elegant dancer dancing in a red dress. To capture this elegance, I used an antique lens, with features that are "not done" for today's photographic lenses. Barely in focus and lots of bokeh. Personally, I like to make use of these lens flaws. They bring an atmosphere that expresses exactly what attracts me to the poppy. Together with the overexposure, the antique lens creates a dreamy yet fresh atmosphere. The background is greying and blurred, making the poppy stand out even more. The whole image looks like it is painted, a watercolour, but nothing could be further from the truth. It is a photograph.
This photo fits well in an interior where you are looking for 1 particular eye-catcher. The rest can be subdued, but this work draws attention.
