This work is one of my many kaleidoscopies, botanical artworks created by copying, rotating and transparently superimposing photographs of flowers or leaves.
It remains a surprise to what extent something of the origin can still be detected in the final result. This is certainly the case with Deep Yellow. The original photo shows a fallen maple leaf in autumn on an asphalt road. The leaf is yellow, the asphalt slightly brown, and those colours come back beautifully in all sorts of shades. And the leaf's vein structure can also be recognised. It results in a colourful and agile interplay of lines.
My work can be found in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work.
