I photographed the flowers of this yellow Kalanchoe in an experiment - born out of a failed conversion attempt.
I used a 7Artisam 25mm for Canon EF-M, which doesn't actually fit my Nikon D7500 at all. I mounted it on my camera anyway and to my delight was able to take this amazing picture.
The Kalanchoe was standing on the windowsill at midday when the sun was shining on the leaves. With an estimated close focus distance of 1-2 cm, I had to get very close to get a decent image by focusing manually.
What fascinates me about this picture is that the angle of view and perceived distance to the flowers corresponds exactly to the distance between the lens and the subject. The softness of the colours and the structure round off the "honesty" of this impression for the viewer and create a harmony all of their own.
