Delta Air Lines Boeing 717-200 (N926AT) Registration: N926AT.The Boeing 717 is an American commercial aircraft built from 1998 to 2006. Originally the McDonnell Douglas MD-95, it was the latest relative of the successful Douglas DC-9 and McDonnell Douglas MD-80 and MD-90 aircraft types. The MD-95 had the same fuselage dimensions as the DC-9-30 and MD-87, but with the advanced wings and engines of the larger MD-90. When Boeing took over McDonnell Douglas in the 1990s, several orders for the MD-95 had already been placed. As a result, Boeing decided to build the aircraft. However, the name was changed to Boeing 717. The aircraft made its maiden flight on 9 February 1998, with the first delivery following on 23 September 1999. The Boeing 717-200 is the only type built. An extended version, the Boeing 717-300, was considered, but plans for it were not realised. This photo was taken on 2 May 2017 at Houston William P. Hobby Airport.
