The impressive Dempster Highway comprises a 740-kilometer 'gravel road' between the Klondike Highway and Inuvik and traverses The Yukon and the northwestern part of the Northwest Territories, in northern Canada.
You drive through two rugged mountain ranges, through a forested landscape and reach the magical Arctic Circle.
On the way you hardly meet anyone and there are no people living there. After about 350 km there is a gas station with a hotel restaurant.
This road gives the feeling of driving into infinity, the horizon remains endlessly far away.
At the end of the Dempster Highway you reach Inuvik, further you cannot get by car in the summer.
The photo shows the endless gravel road, with an occasional oncoming car.
In the distance the mountains with snow on the tops, along the way many pine forests, not on this photo, but present everywhere are bears, they hide during the day.
Driving this road to Innuvik you feel very small in an insanely beautiful landscape!!!
I made this picture to show the peace and quiet.
