The sand reaches metres high against the still brightly coloured yellow, orange and blue walls of this house in the ghost town of Kolmanskop in Namibia. The famous village is near Lüderitz and in the so-called Sperrgebiet, a vast area that cannot be entered because of diamond mines. Kolmanskop has been abandoned since 1958 and is slowly being taken over by the desert sands.
