France is full of them, historical very interesting cities. Dinan is a typical classical city and has been around since the 11th century. The town is particularly interesting for its cobblestone-lined streets with many historical buildings. The centre of the town is largely made up of historic buildings, which, how could it be otherwise, all belong to historical cultural heritage. In the 11th century, the town was a small market town trading with Flanders and England. For those wishing to visit the city, a pair of good walking shoes and decent fitness are recommended. The city is located on a plateau by the river Rance and you will notice this when walking. The most interesting streets run around the centre and in many cases go downhill, which means you have to climb a lot. And that demands something of your fitness. Dinan is definitely worth a visit and an absolute must for those going to Brittany anyway.
