Hub 1878 (now called Tilia Hostel) is a hostel in Faro in the Algarve, Portugal which has become my port of call when passing through Faro. It’s a quirky old building with a convoluted architecture, old creaking wooden floorboards, and a sort of dilapidated charm that’s just right down my street (metaphorically speaking). Formerly it was a training college for primary schoolteachers. This is one of its outside windows at street level (hence the security bars) and old wooden shutters closed to keep the sun and heat out.
