About ‘Dolce Vita’ by Matthias Stolt

This photo was taken last century during a holiday in Tuscany in Radda, a town near Siena. We had rented a holiday apartment in a historic mill in the middle of the Chianti wine-growing region. We stocked up on wine at the nearby winery and bought bread, cheese and other Italian delicacies in the village. We enjoyed Italian cuisine and had a wonderful time. Of course, I captured one of these moments in a photo. The photo was taken with an analogue SLR camera with a telephoto zoom lens on slide film.

Matthias Stolt

Hamburg, Germany

I worked as a freelance photo designer for 25 years. My focus was on fashion and advertising photography. I am also the author of numerous books and articles in trade magazines.
Before becoming self-employed, I worked in marketing for a large camera manufacturer, where I was in charge of public relations.

I discovered my love of photography during my training as a retoucher. This sparked a desire not only to edit photos, but to take them myself.
