I visit Rotterdam regularly.
Rotterdam is a lively city. There is always something to see and do. You can't ignore the river Maas. There is always something happening there. You have views of beautiful buildings and bridges. In this image, you can see the Erasmus Bridge. You also see the buildings along the Wilhelminakade You see the KPN building, De Rotterdam and a few more iconic buildings.
There is often enough a beautiful Cruise Ship moored. There is always movement. You see a Spido and a water taxi. You know, those little boats that are always speeding. And you also always see all kinds of poultry in and above the river Maas.
I wanted to capture that and had brought my camera. Just as I was about to print, something totally unexpected happened. Something moved and when I looked closely I did not believe my eyes. It was happening again. Am I seeing this correctly? Are those big fish?
No yôh, they are dolphins. There were seriously dolphins swimming in the Meuse.
Luckily I was able to print just in time. They were gone in no time. But it worked. What a special picture.
Dolphins in the Meuse.
If you want, you can hang them on your wall.
