About the artwork

Admit it: every year you have to have him as a family. the unmistakable fly agaric. It is the mushroom of mushrooms, as every child draws it, red with white dots, irresistible to gnomes and nature photographers.

The fly agaric is mainly found near birch, beech and oak. That is not without reason. The fungal threads underground have an intimate relationship with the roots of these trees, they grow around the capillaries of the roots. Tree and fungus cannot live without each other! A nice example of symbiosis as you can see in this photo with a beautiful blurred background and an atmospheric bokeh. Against the green and the first colors of autumn, this double fly agaric stands proudly radiating in the green moss that hugs the north side of the beech grows.

There are people who say that the fly agaric has a delicate taste. Still, it is better to leave the mushroom alone, because it is a poisonous species. The red hat in particular contains many active substances, including some with hallucinogenic properties. It is not without reason that this 'magic mushroom' falls under the Opium Act.

The fly agaric is a member of the Amanita mushroom genus. This is a notorious family of poisonous species. In the past, the red and white dotted hat was placed in a bowl to attract flies that snacked on it and promptly died.
