The artwork "Duality in Circles" plays with contrast and perception through colour and sharpness. It consists of a dynamic composition of circles in varying sizes and colours, evoking harmony and movement. One half of the canvas is razor-sharp, with the circles being clearly defined and having sharp edges. This side exudes structure, order and balance. The colours-varying from deep blues and vibrant reds to soft pastels-are intense and saturated, making them instantly eye-catching.
The other half of the work gradually fades, as if the shapes dissolve into a foggy space. Here, the circles seem out of focus, their edges soft and subtly blending into each other. This part of the artwork evokes a dreamy, almost ethereal atmosphere and creates a sense of movement and impermanence. The colours remain recognisable, but lose their intensity and blend with the background.
Through this contrast between sharpness and vagueness, the work raises questions about perception and reality. What is real and what fades? The artwork challenges the viewer to look at shapes and colours differently, to let the eye wander between order and chaos, between presence and disappearance. This interplay of techniques and colours makes it an intriguing visual game in which the balance between control and letting go is central.
