Andromeda is a figure from Greek mythology. She is the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, king and queen of the Ethiopians. In Greek mythology Andromeda was rescued by the hero Perseus from a sea monster, to which she was sacrificed. Her mother had claimed that she was more beautiful than the daughters of Nereus, the Nereids.
Here the woman stands naked on the rocks, where she is placed by the monster. Because the girl stands naked on the portrait his legs, hips, vagina, belly, breasts, torso and shoulders are exposed.
