This beautiful painting was created using acrylic paint and mixed media techniques on canvas. It shows a close-up of a woman's face, wearing a large, dark blue hat. The brim of the hat is wide and casts a deep shadow over her eyes, making her face mysterious and anonymous. Only her nose, mouth and chin are clearly visible. Her lips are full and glistening, with a reddish-brown colour.
The background of the painting is a vibrant mix of colours, dominated by different shades of blue and turquoise. Against this background, colourful, dreamy flowers bloom in shades of yellow, pink, purple and red. The style is expressive and impressionistic, with visible brushstrokes giving it a dynamic texture.
While travelling in Ecuador, I visited a hat factory and came across the world-renowned Panama hat, or as the Ecuadorians themselves call it, the "sombrero de paja toquilla". This inspired me to create a series of ladies wearing hats.
At the bottom left is my signature MIR 2025.
The painting exudes a sense of elegance and mystery. Because of the different colours used, it fits in many living rooms or offices and catches everyone's eye.
Delight in disappearing into creating a work of art for the wall. Delightfully free or commissioned. I prefer human beings and animals. I work with different materials on different sizes of canvas. Inspiration for a painting comes from ideas in my head and images shot with my camera. I love.. Read more…
