The beautiful entrance of an abandoned Italian hospital. This hospital was built at the end of the 19th century. At first many patients were brought here because of a cholera outbreak. Nurses that worked here weren't prepared and became exhausted rather fast. Each nurse had to take care of at least 7 patients. Next to that, patients were exposed to beatings, immobilized in bed with laces and straitjackets and treated with repeated cycles of electro-shocks.
A lot more happend in this tragic place until it closed it doors around the 80's in the 20th century.
