About ‘Eucalyptus trees in Ormiston Gorge, Australia’ by The Book of Wandering

In the depths, two people walk through a gorge in the mountains of West MacDonnel National Park. Gray-green eucalyptus trees have established themselves at the edge of a stream at the bottom of a gorge. A small sandy beach lies between the orange rock and emerald green water. Slender tree roots reach for the water's edge. A tiny tuft of grass survives there. This is Ormiston Gorge where you can hike along and through the riverbed, most of which is dry. In this photo you are looking down from the hiking trail at the top of the gorge. It is a characteristic landscape for 'the red center', the red center of Australia in the Northern Territory where you also find Uluru. You reach this place from Alice Springs.
