About ‘Evening atmosphere on the Fehmarn Sound’ by Friedhelm Peters

This work captures the moment when the day draws to a close. At its centre is the iconic silhouette of the Fehmarn Sound Bridge, which stretches across the glistening water like a delicate ribbon. As the sun disappears behind the horizon as a blazing ball of fire, the sky glows in shades of deep orange and soft violet. The details in the foreground are particularly fascinating: The rough boulders, smoothed by the sea, and the dark seaweed speak of the untamed power of the Baltic Sea, whilst the water gently laps around the stones and reflects the last light of the day. It is the pure holiday spirit: the promise of salty air, freedom and the end of the daily grind. Yet, at this moment, a deep sense of awe at the majesty of nature hovers over the joy. When the sky glows in these colours, one instinctively holds one’s breath. It is an atmosphere of intense warmth that literally envelops the viewer and compels them to find peace. Technically, the focus was on bringing out the fine textures in the stones in the foreground, in order to preserve the tactile reality of the coast without diminishing the luminous power of the sky.

Friedhelm Peters comes from the beautiful Münsterland region in North Rhine-Westphalia and was born in Germany in 1964. He works as an intensive care nurse and his passion for photography accompanied him since childhood. His grandfather was an avid photographer and passed this passion on to him. In the 2000s, he began to pursue his enjoyment of photography as a balance to his profession, and in the 2010s he participated in various photography competitions and received…

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
