About ‘Evening by the Sea’ by Olav Brink

A summer evening by the sea. Most of the sunbeds are already empty, the black-and-white parasols are still standing, and the last people of the day are sitting on the terrace. There is still plenty happening on the beach, but slowly the bustle begins to make way for calm.

That is exactly the kind of moment I like to capture. Not a crowded beach in the middle of the day, and not the silence after everyone has left, but the moment somewhere in between. The warm evening light, the long row of sunbeds and parasols, and the sea in the background naturally give the image its rhythm.

For me, the atmosphere is in the small details: someone still walking across the beach, a few people by the water’s edge, and the sunbeds waiting as if another beach day will simply begin again tomorrow.

An image that, to me, feels like summer, the sea, and the moment when the day slowly settles down.

I’m Olav Brink. I grew up on Terschelling, an island in the north of the Netherlands, and now live in Amsterdam.

Through my photography, I look for quiet, meaningful moments that tell a subtle story. Rather than explaining everything, my images leave room for your own imagination and interpretation.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
