About ‘Summer in Amsterdam’ by Olav Brink

A sunny view looking up in Amsterdam. Orange-and-white striped awnings stand out against a clear blue sky, giving the façade an almost natural rhythm of lines and shapes.

What caught my eye here was the combination of colour and repetition. The awnings look similar, but because of the perspective, the shadows and the different windows, no part of the image is exactly the same.

By photographing straight upwards, the street disappears from view. What remains is a small piece of Amsterdam that almost becomes abstract: brick, stripes, sunlight and blue sky.

To me, this image feels like a warm summer day in the city. A moment of looking up and noticing something you might normally just walk past.

I’m Olav Brink. I grew up on Terschelling, an island in the north of the Netherlands, and now live in Amsterdam.

Through my photography, I look for quiet, meaningful moments that tell a subtle story. Rather than explaining everything, my images leave room for your own imagination and interpretation.

My goal is to bring a sense of atmosphere, calm and wonder into your space. I hope my work allows you to pause for a moment, drift away, and discover something new…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
