Faithful Step

by INGO

A magical, timeless moment by the seaside with this oil painting, ‘Trouwe Tred’. This atmospheric artwork captures the pure, unconditional friendship between a young boy and his faithful, wire-haired black dog. Together, they wade barefoot through the gentle surf, whilst the sun slowly sinks below the horizon.
The composition exudes a deep sense of tranquillity and nostalgia. The low evening sun transforms the sky into a sea of flames in blazing orange and radiant gold, dramatically interspersed with deep, vibrant streaks of magenta and violet. The dynamic reflection of this intense colour palette on the wet beach and in the rolling water immediately draws the viewer into the scene. Long, deep shadows stretch gracefully across the foreground, accentuating the harmonious stride of these two inseparable companions. A masterful interplay of fiery light and cool evening hues that radiates tranquillity, adventure and joy.

This work was created digitally in an expressive, modern-impressionist style. Rather than smooth digital lines, this painting celebrates the pure texture of classic oil paint. Thanks to a powerful impasto technique, the thick, impasto brushstrokes and robust palette knife work are visible throughout the canvas. As a result, the clouds and the white crests of the waves have taken on a tangible, three-dimensional dynamism.

Interior styles:
This artwork fits perfectly into a Classic, Country or Bohemian interior thanks to its warm, natural look. But it also provides a fantastic, atmospheric counterbalance in a Modern or Industrial interior featuring plenty of concrete, steel and anthracite.
