Downed and fallen trees are scattered crisscross through the forest. Other trees are still upright and gaining leaves again now that spring has arrived.

The photo was taken in the former Pax estate, a small nature reserve near the village of Elshout in Brabant, municipality of Heusden.
The nature reserve is owned or managed by the Brabants Landscape Foundation.
