The name Testarossa immediately says something to the Ferraristi, although in the 50s and 60s there were already two models called Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa and Ferrari 500 TR. Testa Rossa is the correct spelling of the name which means "red head" in Italian.
In 1991 there was a revised version called Ferrari 512 TR and as always there was an increase in power to 315 kW (428 PS).
1994 came the Ferrari F512M (M for Modificata) whose engine output was 324 kW (440 PS).
According to Motor Klassik, about 9957 Ferrari Testarossa were built over all models and was therefore one of the most successful cars from Modena. The 512 TR is considered the best Testarossa, as it did not have all the teething troubles of its predecessor.
