A fisheye lens (or fisheye or fisheye lens) is a lens system with a short focal length. On a still camera, the lens produces a strong wide-angle effect and a characteristic barrel-shaped distortion. The distorted image is somewhat similar to the reflected image in a Christmas ball. The image reproduction differs from that produced by the more common rectilinear wide-angle and super-wide-angle lenses. Fisheye images are therefore very suitable for projection onto a spherical screen.
