In this picture, two young Sikerei women from the Mentawai tribe (who live on the island of Mentawai near Sumatra, in Indonesia). They are fishing for small fish in the river with a homemade net. Sikerei is the name for traditional leaders and experts in traditional medicine in the Mentawai community. People in the Mentawai islands believe they have supernatural abilities to communicate with spirits, predict the future and cure the sick.
