About ‘Fit model’ by Saskia Nelissen

In a warm glow of brown and yellow tones, reminiscent of yellowed photographs from grandmother's time, a mannequin takes centre stage. But this mannequin is not an inanimate object: the top has turned into the upper body of a woman. She is neatly dressed in a jacket and holds an inch in her hand, with which she accurately measures herself - intently, almost professionally. As if she is preparing for a fitting or assessing herself with the critical eye of a cutter.

Next to her is a gracefully elegant chair from days gone by, with a piece of fabric and scissors. The composition exudes tranquillity and nostalgia. The sepia-like, aged colours give it a vintage feel, as if the scene comes from a forgotten time, but at the same time tells something very contemporary.

"Fit model" is a subtle nod to the eternal drive for perfection, self-measurement and conforming to the right image. A mix of stillness and self-awareness, in which the line between model and maker blurs. Who is actually measuring whom? A silent scene full of gentle irony and timeless charm

My name is Saskia Nelissen, I live and work in Rijswijk and in May 2010 I started my own company in Visual Communication, Kasias Photo Art.
Kasias is involved in special projects in the field of photography, image editing and graphic design.

I also teach Photoshop and Lightroom courses for amateurs and professionals and I've been running the Photo Art Club since 2011. We deal with extreme photo editing and experimental photography.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
