The Flatiron Building, literally translated 'iron building', (originally Fuller Building) is a skyscraper in New York. Later the nickname was adopted as the official name. The building was constructed in 1902 for the Fuller Construction Company and at the time of its completion, with its height of 87 meters and 22 floors, was one of the tallest early 20th-century skyscrapers in the city. Due to its distinctive shape, the Flatiron Building is a well-known tourist attraction and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
