This picture has been taken in Leiden.
The Waterlily Family (Nymphaeaceae).
They are water plants: the flowers and leaves float on the water, but the roots keep the plants in place.
With about sixty species this is a small family.
The plants are found worldwide.
This plant is in De Hortus botanist Leiden.
This is the oldest still existing botanical garden of the Netherlands and was founded in 1590 at the Rapenburg in Leiden.
Photography is my biggest hobby/passion....
