The great thing about nature and macro photography is that when you're working on it, you often see things you wouldn't easily notice otherwise. I had been working on this mushroom for a while, trying to get the right angle for the photo, when I suddenly noticed a tiny snail crawling up along the stem. The nice round holes in the cap (bottom left and top right) show that it and/or its kind had been up there before.
I started photographing when I was about 12 years old, still in the analogue photo era. We had a darkroom at home and developed the films ourselves and made prints with a professional enlarger. Great times though, but I'm also glad we have digital photography now. In recent.. Read more…
