This yellow-winged Amazon parrot is common on Bonaire. It was an endangered bird for some time, but thanks to a protection programme, it is now abundant again. It is a green bird with large parts of its head coloured yellow. The bird is called 'lora' on Bonaire, which is the Papiamentu word for parrot. Loras eat fruit and seeds from native as well as cultivated plants.
