'The Rotterdam', the stunning architectural skyscraper on Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam-South.
Designed by Rem Koolhaas' Office for Metropolitan Architecture and developed by MAB Development and OVG Real Estate.
Located between the Toren op Zuid and Cruise Terminal Rotterdam, the complex was completed in late 2013; on 21 November 2013, its largest user, the Municipality of Rotterdam, received the key. The design accommodates offices, a hotel and flats and has 44 floors.
The sleek design is broken somewhat by a silhouette of a beautiful lady in the dead of night leaning against the floor-to-ceiling glass facade. You just have to dare. Overlooking the Erasmus Bridge and on the other side the skyline of Rotterdam-North with the twinkling lights of the busy traffic on the river Maas.
You sleep here with the curtains open, because who wouldn't want to fall asleep or wake up here with a view over one of the Netherlands' most beautiful bustling cities?
