About ‘Fortifications of Venlo 1649’ by Frans Blok - photos, art and other wall decoration
Almost nothing is left of the extensive fortifications that surrounded the city of Venlo in earlier centuries. This drawing shows the city as it must have looked like in the seventeenth century. Both the shape of the fortifications and the colors of the work are based on the famous map by Joan Blaeu from 1649.
