The Fossá River in Iceland carries water flowing from the lava fields of Mount Hekla towards the mighty Þjórsá, Iceland's longest river. The Fossá river gets its name from the many waterfalls in its catchment area. Two of the most famous are also two of the highest waterfalls in Iceland, the Háifoss, 122m high and Grannifoss, 100m high. The high vantage point gives a wide view of the river and the Fossárdalur valley with their beautiful colours.
