Foxes are one of the largest free-living predators in the Netherlands. That always makes an encounter very special, especially when the fox gives such a beautiful look. I met the fox in the Dutch dune landscape near Noordwijk. The fox's fur is beautifully thick and reddish brown, especially in the winter months. After I sat down somewhere quietly he became less anxious and even came a bit closer. When other hikers arrived he was frightened and showed this beautiful expression.
